His functional experience includes corporate affairs, communications, sales & marketing, HR and general management. He has gained this experience working across various countries including; Australia & NZ, Switzerland, the UK, Ireland, the Philippines, Hong Kong & Macau, within complex global organisations.

He brings a genuine leadership style, building and inspiring high-performing teams to develop and achieve transformation and business growth. He’s passionate about supporting others, seeing them succeed and reach their full potential.

Career History

Brett started with Philip Morris International in Sydney in Sales and Marketing. He worked in different positions of increased responsibility in Australia and became State Manager in Victoria in 2006.

He moved internationally and cross functionally into the Global Corporate Affairs team based in Switzerland prior to moving to London to head up the Corporate Affairs team managing the company’s public affairs and communications activity in the UK.

Brett then relocated to the Philippines to lead the Sales & Marketing team (200) and transformed the organisation with significant positive organisational changes and a new commercial approach. He then moved to Hong Kong and Macau as General Manager and a Member of the Board for PMI Asia Ltd where he led the organisation with full P&L responsibility (US$800m, 120 FTE) and guided the team through large-scale transformation.

Returning to Australia in 2021, Brett is now in Melbourne focusing on supporting leadership teams with management and business challenges including human resources, transformation, corporate affairs.

Leadership Highlights

Transitioning from Sales & Marketing to Public Affairs, then to General Management across several countries during a 20-year career in a complex global organisation. More recently, starting my own business and joining Leaders on Demand.

Enhancing employee engagement with high cultural sensitivity and a strong mindset for Diversity & Inclusion. Resulted in building successful teams, and significantly increasing the proportion of females in management roles.

Overcame complex business, political, regulatory and communications challenges in Australia, the UK, European Union, APAC & Hong Kong.
