Dan is an accomplished executive leader, change consultant, master facilitator and leadership coach with 35 years' experience with 50+ organisations in 7 countries. His signature strength is in creating alignment between strategy, capability and culture to meet emerging challenges and optimise organisational effectiveness.

He has deep expertise in establishing change strategy and architecture for new operating models, restructures, post-merger integration and cultural realignment. He is a master designer and facilitator of bespoke leadership development and capability uplift programs to ensure successful change implementation. He has 20 years' experience as trusted advisor, coach & mentor to C-Suite leaders and boards.

Career History

Dan has built diverse professional experience over a multi-phased career spanning:

20 years in consulting, contract and interim executive roles, including 15 years as MD of his own successful org change & leadership consultancy, and 5 years in top- tier consulting including with major global firm Booz & Co (now Strategy&)

15+ years (part-time) as Program Director and Lead Facilitator with Melbourne Business School and AGSM (UNSW), designing and delivering 1000+ hours of leadership development programs, averaging above 90% approval rating

An earlier 15-year career in the Australian Army, leading teams up to 75 FT and 220 PT staff, in combat units, diving operations with Navy and special forces, engineering projects, and on active service in the East Timor conflict of 1999/2000

Leadership Highlights

Principal Change Advisor to CEO and ELT in a restructure of 5 research divisions at ANSTO into an agile new operational model, overseeing a change team of 10 FT + 40 PT employees. Design and facilitation of 40+ staff engagement workshops; coach & mentor to workstream leaders.

As Head of People & Performance at Coates Hire (then NHGL), designed and led the structural and cultural integration of 4 acquired companies, delivering 400% growth in headcount and revenue in 2 yrs

As part of a New Operating Model for Bangkok Bank, led the P&C workstream and Leadership Capability Uplift Program for 120+ SVP managers to transform and streamline operations across 165 branches

Dept of Defence - Designed the stakeholder engagement strategy and led stakeholder consultation workshops with 30+ PMOs in a Defence-wide rationalisation of maintenance MIS for the $112 bn asset portfolio.

Conducted a strategic review of St George Bank’s People & Culture Transformation for the CEO and HR Director to measure attainment of strategic goals & KPIs, embed change and support future transformations.

For Lendlease – Advisory, facilitation & coaching support to establish cross- functional teams that won and delivered $1 bn+ Sydney Metro projects
