Alan has come from a long tenure of almost 25 years as CFO, Finance Director & Company Secretary of a global publicly listed group. He was a well-respected and highly valued board member team player focussing on group strategy, M&A, investor relations and corporate governance.

On the M&A front, Alan has honed his superior negotiation skills, keen eye for detail, due diligence process and astute legal understanding. He also has a proven wealth of experience in international legal and taxation matters.

Alan has effectively integrated and consolidated several local and global acquisitions culminating in the ultimate successful sale of the group. He is a talented strategist and experienced leader.

Career History

Originally from South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Accountancy degrees, Alan is a qualified Chartered Accountant.  In 1993 he emigrated to Sydney and joined Divergent Technologies, a small tech company, where he worked for almost eight years as Financial Controller and then Finance Director eventually selling to a US listed company.

Taking a break from the corporate world, Alan ventured into the private sector with a share in a retail business for a few years.

Alan was headhunted to list a company which eventuated in an invitation to join the Board of 3Q Holdings Limited as Executive Finance Director, Company Secretary and CFO where he remained for 18-years combining the role of mergers and acquisitions and investor relations with that of CFO.   Over this time his financial leadership helped revenues increase by up to 13x.

Alan’s pivotal role in the eventual sale of the group has left him free to pursue other avenues, one of which is to bring his experience to Leaders on Demand.
