Career History

With over 30 years experience in leadership, risk management and governance Clinton has successfully designed, implemented and led global enterprise risk functions including for 10 years at Macquarie Group, and 5 years as CRO at Tabcorp Holdings.

Clinton is a Chartered Accountant (ICAA), a qualified company director (GAICD) and a certified executive coach. He also has significant experience of investment banking gained from internal audit roles at JPMorgan and Westpac, and external audit with PwC.

Leadership Highlights

Designed, implemented, and led the global enterprise operational risk function at Macquarie Group for over 10 years, including as the final sign off on all new business and new products across the group.

Led successful settlement of record AUSTRAC AML litigation at Tabcorp.

Embedded significant uplift and transformation of operational practices across Tabcorp to achieve the settlement, covering 5,000 direct staff and over 8,000 venues selling Tabcorp's products.

Successfully rebuilt relations with key external stakeholders including regulators, bankers, insurers and law enforcement.

Hired and led high performing teams with consistently high staff engagement results, by coaching and developing staff to be their best.

Permanent full-time attendee at the Board Audit Committee and Board Risk Committees of Macquarie and Tabcorp for over 15 years to provide an opinion on the current state of risk, and advise on any matter raised.

Collaborated with fellow Group executives to bid for and then implement the merger of Tatts with Tabcorp ($5bn takeover).
