With more than 30 years experience as an international director, CEO, COO and CFO with exposure to Asia, AU/NZ, and the US, Scott is sought out by leadership teams who want a lateral and strategic thinker, strong commercial acumen and intense customer focus.

Having spent his executive career working in multinationals, most recently Scott has focused on unlisted family and private equity businesses. He is passionate about the customer experience, strategy setting, developing growth and exit plans whilst maintaining good relations with the stakeholders. His personal style is diplomacy, an ability to listen and handle different people, apply clear thinking and gentle guidance. All targeted results must be achieved at a sustainable speed.

Career History

Scott originally started work as a graduate mining accountant for BHP on Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria before ultimately preparing board reports for the BHP Board.

Subsequently, Scott has worked for the Pratt family and Visy in Melbourne and Sydney, Ashton Mining in diamond exploration across Australia and Indonesia, then Austram Corporation Ltd which was involved in property and manufacturing.

Scott spent 16 years with Manheim in the building and automotive auction businesses as CFO, COO and CEO responsible for Asia Pacific and the Middle East. More recently Scott has been the Asia Pacific CEO of Smarte Carte.

During this time, Scott has been a non-executive director and chair of a number of private companies as well as a board advisor. He currently chairs two unlisted companies.

Leadership Highlights

Successfully resolved and negotiated a significant shareholder dispute in a win/win environment for both parties.

Grew Smarte Carte's revenue by 96% and EBITDA by 31% over six years.

Grew Manheim into a regional industry leader with revenue and EBITDA growing by more than 10 times over 16 years.

Led a series of successful transactions including a trade sale of Fowles Auction Group, the acquisitions of a number of businesses, significant property purchases and developments, settlement of a complex tax matter.

Built a number of successful international businesses in New Zealand, Japan, Thailand and UAE.

Led the corporate transformation of a family business into a large corporate.

Led a successful SAP ERP implementation over two years.
