Steve is an executive leader and coach who partners with leaders through disruption, transition and change. He supports leaders to navigate complexity with purpose and builds corporate leadership capability and systems to enable organisations to proactively navigate disruptive events and environments.

Steve has worked in leadership and change roles for over 30 years, in more than 40 countries, managing large-scale programmes in complex contexts.

His strength lies in taking a systemic approach to: organisational development; crisis management; remote management of multiple geographic sites; adaptive leadership; facilitation of teams and resilience.

Career History

Steve initially trained and worked as a Chartered Accountant. He then worked in Not for Profit roles in finance and leadership in Mozambique, the United States, Angola and South Africa. He established and led a 10 member consortium in 4 countries in Southern Africa.

After returning to Australia, Steve lead a global team of emergency responders. He also remotely managed a 4 country cluster in the Pacific. He now works as an executive coach and systems change consultant partnering with leaders and teams to navigate and lead through uncertainty and change.

Leadership Highlights

Led large scale programs ($30 - $250m) of multiple stakeholders across different geographies globally to achieve impact within budget.

Guided boards and executive teams in strategic and systemic change (50 - 900 staff).

Led office wide change programs e.g. rapid downsizing from 600 staff to 300.

Developed and implemented a global system to double the emergency response capability of the world’s largest Non-Government Organisation.

Designed and delivered experiential development programs for leaders in volatility and change

Co-developed a process for moving languishing systems and teams to flourishing during the global pandemic.

Inaugural board chair for a global initiative to find and distribute innovation by people impacted by disasters.

Experienced coach, researching and appling learning on resilience in leaders and teams.
