Tom Pellegrini

Tom is a senior executive with over 25 years of international professional experience and is an audacious, determined and resilient transformational business leader. He specialises in innovative initiatives and digital technology to reinvent business systems, increase productivity and save costs. He leverages his solid financial, investment and human resources expertise and transferable skills, gained across diverse industries and c-suite roles, to build, restructure and transform national and multi- national organisations.

Tom has a recognised ability to build and lead high-performing teams under intense pressure and in highly complex environments and align functional business units surrounding a single corporate vision and mission. Having participated in hundreds of board meetings and committees, reporting to several Boards, he also attained an extensive experience in corporate governance, stakeholders engagement and management, strategic plan development and strategy execution, and is a trusted adviser to Chairs and Board members.

Career History
Tom started his career in Italy as a chartered accountant and a registered company auditor. To quickly acquire, in a multinational environment, a 'helicopter view' of the whole business processes of complex organisations, he joined KPMG, where he led teams to execute audits, evaluate internal controls, and other advisory services for high-profile clients within biopharmaceutical, transportation, banking, energy, television and digital production, automotive, and NFP sectors.

With the ambition to challenge his leadership attitudes in diverse industries, he then joined another multi- national, Endemol Shine, the first TV production company in Italy and part of one of the largest international groups of content producers and distributors, where he played on behalf of the mother company and in several c-suite roles, a critical role in the company's transformation into a multinational after the acquisition and, as part of the Italian team, in the successful Endemol' IPO', in the meantime became owned by the Spanish Telefónica.

His appetite for new challenges was quieted when a global executive search firm headhunted him, and Tom was appointed, at 39 years old, CEO of the Italian Superannuation Fund for Chartered Accountants with $16 billion assets worth. He was identified as the leader to restructure and drive effective change management and innovation strategies to entirely transform the organisation from a public entity into a private fund, introducing a new cultural approach based on customer-centric orientation, teamwork, and results-based management. Before moving to Australia seeking new challenges, Tom’s previous roles at the Fund also included interim Chief Investment Officer, with a $1.6 billion average annual financial and real estate investment, and CHRO.

Leadership Highlights
Under his leadership, the Superfund has become one of the most influential and highly regarded private institutional investors, with assets growth tripled from $4.8 bn to $15.6 bn ($1.2 bn result for FY 2021), notwithstanding the GFC, pandemic and other major national and international crisis

Over a complex real estate market crisis in Europe, requalified and valorised a $1.5 bn Real Estate portfolio, also establishing "Reserved Real Estate AIF - Alternative Investment Funds" and changing the use of RE existing properties through requalification projects to leading hotels units or different usages

Wholly redesigned the corporate governance framework by developing risk management and reporting framework to prevent regulatory and fraud issues, crisis management, DR and BCP plans, achieving the UNI ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management Systems and the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Certifications ("Risk Management concentration"), based on quality management principles, including a commitment to customer focus, the motivation of top management, and a process approach to continuous improvement

Led the whole-enterprise transformations of the Superfund and the Italian subsidiary of the multi-national TV productions over their respective challenging phases of post-denationalisation, acquisition, and IPO

As the "change agent" amid Boards and Executives, spearheaded the cultural reset to collaborate in the companies' best interest efficiently and achieve exceptional results, retraining, coaching, and motivating employees, boosting their productivity and efficiency, and building a customer-centric organisation
